About Dani Deahl:
Few in electronic music do as much as Chicago’s Dani Deahl. Counting credits as a DJ, producer, journalist and blogger, Dani’s reach within electro is all encompassing. She’s produced a Billboard charted track, interviewed heavyweights like David Guetta and Tiga for national publications, played Lollapalooza three times and currently runs a successful blog, garnering between 60,000-80,000 visitors a month. And that’s just a sampling.
Born and raised in the city that invented house music, Dani was drawn to the genre at an early age, becoming a DJ and landing her first residencies while still in high school. Since then, she’s expanded into production and quickly made her mark. She’s worked with vocal artists from Sue Cho to Oh Snap! and Whiskey Pete, who lent vocals to the Billboard featured “Poppin Bottles”, her songs have been praised by artists like Diplo, Smalltown DJs and Donald Glaude and signed to prestigious labels Red Stick (a Strictly Rhythm label), Royal One, Dirty Fabric, Atomic Zoo and more.
Dani hasn’t just made her mark with music, but is an established writer as well. Beginning as a contributor for URB Magazine, she was later hired as the House Section Editor and branched out to write for other publications. Since then, she’s also written for Chinashop (Red Bull’s magazine), TimeOut, Mateo, BPM and more, interviewing the top artists in the world, reviewing albums and singles and writing feature articles. Dani also began her own blog, dsquared, in 2009. Featuring artist-approved, high quality downloads for free, she applied her journalism background to the site, offering detailed reviews for the audio posted. The format and music selection quickly garnered a worldwide fan base and the site now boasts between 60,000-80,000 monthly visitors with five staff writers.
2012 sees Dani with a host of announcements. Not only does she have new single, “Diplo Hates You” featuring Oh Snap!! on Calgary’s Atomic Zoo imprint, she counts new residencies with Chicago’s prestigious “Porn & Chicken” as well as a quarterly with Madison’s Segredo and is also a Savior of Sound for SOL Headphones. With a host of new productions forthcoming along with slated touring, live performance additions and continued nurturing for her journalism and blog, the future looks incredibly bright for this rising Electro star.
About Chris Grant:
Chris Grant is a major force in the Midwest's EDM culture.
His love of electronic music began when he was kicked out of his high school band for buying a synthesizer / sequencer instead of a new guitar ( Yamaha QY70 ). His productions started with the mechanical angst of industrial music and grew with him until he stumbled into the rapidly growing realm of underground rave parties. As the scene began to crumble around him, Chris was determined with other of his friends to not see the beauty of the rave scene disappear. As many of the seasoned promoters got out of the industry forever, Chris and a core group of friends began Outlawed Productions. Outlawed productions threw their first party breaking into a warehouse on Milwaukee's north side and threw down a rave the way people used to. It also ended the way they used to as well with people running in all direction from the police at 4am. Over the years Chris threw many more parties of different sizes and scales often partnering with Outlawed Productions, Stellar Spark Productions, Ecstatic Productions and even with the student group he founded at UWM, the Electronic Music Coalition. Currently Chris owns Crisp Pizza Bar & Lounge on Milwaukee's east side. Still working on some events there he hosts a wide range of different DJ's and entertainment every night of the week. Keep your eyes open for events there and his annual Winter Warmer Event every January!
